Retainer Agreement

By checking this box you agree to the terms set for in this Retainer Agreement. This Retainer Agreement sets forth the terms and conditions under which the law firm of Amster Law Firm (hereinafter “Law Firm”) will provide legal representation to you on behalf of your child (“Client”). The legal services to be provided to Client by Law Firm are as follows: the Firm will review all documents and concerns of the Client regarding the Client’s free and appropriate education as required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, 20 U.S.C. Section 1401 et seq. Client wishes to retain Firm to represent the Client in order to review all documents provided by Client, communicate over the phone for no more than one hour, and then the Firm will provide Client with a summary of the discussion and an action plan going forward. This is intended as a limited scope agreement. This agreement does not include attendance at the IEP meeting(s), filing due process, or other legal representation in pursuit of securing special education services for Client. Should Client wish to go forward with due process or representation at an IEP, a separate retainer agreement will be necessary. Client will pay Law Firm a non-refundable flat fee of $400 for attorneys' fees for the legal services provided under this Retainer Agreement. Law Firm has made no guarantees or representations of any kind regarding the successful termination of any action contemplated by this Retainer Agreement, and all expressions by the Law Firm are only opinions. After services conclude, Law Firm will not retain any files for this matter.
